Insurance & License Is Key: Don’t Let Your Yard Become a Lawsuit

Before you let someone rev up a grinder or start tossing mulch around your yard, make sure you're not hiring Captain Sketchy and his Band of Unlicensed Landscapers.

When gathering quotes for tree removal, stump grinding, or landscaping, ask the right questions. Just because someone’s bid is cheaper doesn’t mean it won’t cost you double when the electric panel starts smoking.

Here’s what most customers don’t know (but should):

  • In Manatee County, it’s straight-up illegal to perform landscaping for pay without BMP certification. That’s Florida’s way of saying “do it right or don’t do it at all.”

  • If your contractors not registered on SunBiz and doesn't carry insurance… guess what? If a $10K underground line gets hit, you're likely footing the bill while they vanish.

  • Stump grinding may look simple, but you want someone trained, insured, and documented.

Bottom line?   Hire licensed, insured, BMP-certified pros (like yours truly). We play by the book, keep your property protected, and leave you with peace of mind. Also, don't forget it costs the same to do a regrind when you realize that competitor left you a stump still under that pile of mulch.
